Retire to Nature

Many health professionals and magazines speak about the mental and physical benefits of being involved in nature.  In the Portland Metro area, we are blessed to be surrounded by hundreds of natural green spaces.  From our neighborhood wetland to Forest Park, it is fairly easy to get a quick glimpse of wildlife and florae in our corner of the world.

Getting outdoors is beneficial because it forces us to become more physically active.  As a reminder, physical activity promotes a healthy heart and strong bones.  It also reduces the chance of catching a chronic disease and reduces stress.

In addition, if we take the time to appreciate nature’s beauty, we can gain a sense of peacefulness and awareness.
