Burnside Capital Management was founded in 2004 to serve the needs of investors in search of objective, conflict-free investment management. Registered with the state of Oregon, we are located in the American Bank Building in downtown Portland, Oregon.

John C. Burnside, Principal

John founded Burnside Capital Management not only to fulfill his own personal goal of becoming an independent business owner, but to be able to provide investors with unbiased investment advice at a lower cost. Because John proactively pursued both his business and personal objectives, he understands how important it is for you to achieve yours.

A Portland State University graduate, John has over a decade of financial services experience. He has worked on both the retail and operational divisions of some of the larger firms in the finance industry, including Charles Schwab. Clients directly benefit from John’s vast industry knowledge of the ins and outs of investment management and trading, along with his expertise in portfolio development.

Very active in his community, John sits on the Investment Committee of the Archdiocese of Portland in Oregon and is a member of the Administrative Counsel of the All Saints Catholic Church, Portland, Oregon
